Travel Checklist

Prior to your departure, please ensure you check all of your documents thoroughly.

Please also make sure that you are in possession of the following:

  • E-ticket
  • Itinerary
  • International travel: a valid passport (s), which must be valid for at least 6 months from your return to Australia, re-entry permit(s) or visa if required
  • Domestic travel: photo identification

Important Information for International Travellers:

Your final check-in time is 1 hour prior for Qantas and Virgin domestic flights, 30 minutes prior for Rex flights and 2.5 hours prior for International flights. More stringent security and other check-in procedures are increasingly being put in to place at airports worldwide, therefore you should allow extra time for this when checking in.

International travellers who are seeking to travel to the United States who wish to travel under the Visa Waiver Program must apply for authorization at least 72 hours prior to arrival.
International travellers who are travelling to Canada must now apply for an electronic visa (eTA) prior to their arrival in Canada. A visa upon arrival are no longer available.  

Please note that this itinerary is current at time of printing. Because of possible schedule changes by the airline, it is important to check departure times and check-in times when reconfirming flights or on the day of departure.

Overseas departure tax for most countries is included on your air ticket. There are some countries that still require payment at the airport on departure.

These allowances may vary between airlines and we advise you to check each airlines restrictions on their individual websites.

Luggage Limits for Domestic Travel

  • For all classes of travel
    - Regional Express: 15kg (up to 20kg permitted if connecting to an international flight)
    - Qantaslink: 23kg (1 piece)

Changes to Your Itinerary

International Emergency Assistance

In the event of an emergency please refer to your Travel Guard information for the procedures to receive assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
